Nazca Lines Full Day Trip from Lima
Stop 105:00 h. – Depart Lima for the Nazca Desert
Your Nazca adventure begins early in the morning with pick-up from your hotel in Lima. Board your comfortable vehicle and travel south along the Pan-American Highway, leaving the capital behind as the scenery gradually transforms into the vast desert landscapes of Peru’s southern coast.
The journey takes you through one of the driest regions of Peru, following the Pacific coast before continuing toward the valleys of Palpa and Nazca. Along the way, your driver will make the necessary stops for your comfort as you travel deeper into the Peruvian desert.
Morning – Discover the Palpa & Nazca Geoglyphs by Land
Before reaching the city of Nazca, your exploration begins from the ground.
Your first stop is in Palpa, where an observation tower provides views of remarkable anthropomorphic geoglyphs etched across the surrounding desert hillsides. These ancient human figures offer a fascinating introduction to the long tradition of geoglyph-making that developed in southern Peru.
Continue south to the Nazca Lines Observation Tower, located beside the Pan-American Highway. From its elevated platform, you will have a close view of the famous Tree and Hands geoglyphs, as well as the immense lines stretching across the desert landscape.
Together, these stops provide an excellent introduction to the history and archaeological context of the region before you experience the Nazca Lines from an entirely different perspective — the sky.
Midday – Scenic Flight Over the Nazca Lines
Upon arrival in Nazca, you will continue to the local airport, where our team will assist you with check-in and the necessary pre-flight procedures.
Before boarding, you will receive information about the flight route, the archaeological area, and the principal figures you will see from the air. A map of the Nazca Lines will also help you identify the geoglyphs during the flight.
Then comes the highlight of your journey: an approximately 35-minute scenic flight over the Nazca Lines.
From the air, the enormous designs that are difficult to comprehend from ground level suddenly reveal their extraordinary forms. Look down upon the Whale, Astronaut, Monkey, Dog, Hummingbird, Spider, Condor, Parrot, Tree, Hands, and other remarkable figures, surrounded by immense geometric shapes and hundreds of lines crossing the Nazca Desert.
During the flight, the aircraft makes coordinated passes around the principal geoglyphs, providing passengers with excellent opportunities to observe and photograph these ancient designs from above.
Afternoon – Lunch in Nazca & Journey Back to Lima
After your flight, you will have time to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Nazca before beginning the return journey to Lima. Lunch is not included, allowing you to choose according to your preferences.
Travel north once again through the landscapes of Peru’s southern desert after a day that has allowed you to experience the ancient geoglyphs from two completely different perspectives — first from the desert viewpoints of Palpa and Nazca, and then from the air above one of the world’s most extraordinary archaeological landscapes.
Upon arrival in Lima, you will be transferred directly to your hotel.
