From Nazca to Palpa: Geoglyphs Along Your Flight Path

Discover some of the most symbolic geoglyphs of the Nazca and Palpa deserts. The figures shown below represent only a selection of the remarkable designs you may see along the route, as the full flight reveals many more geoglyphs, geometric shapes and ancient lines scattered across these extraordinary desert landscapes

ANCIENT MARINE SYMBOL

The Whale Geoglyph – Nazca Lines

One of the first great figures revealed during the flight, the Whale Geoglyph stretches approximately 65 meters across the Nazca Desert. Its marine form is especially intriguing in this intensely arid landscape, evoking the deep relationship between water, fertility, and life in ancient Andean thought. Seen from above, its immense outline emerges with remarkable clarity—a powerful introduction to the symbolism and mystery of the Nazca Lines.

Your Nazca & Palpa Lines Flight, Step by Step

Hotel Pick-Up & Transfer to Nazca Airport

At the designated time, our staff will meet you at your hotel in Nazca and transfer you to María Reiche Neuman Airport, located just a few kilometers from the city center. Upon arrival, our local team will assist you with check-in and the necessary pre-flight procedures.

Pre-Flight Introduction

Before boarding, you will receive an introduction to the archaeological landscape you are about to explore. A flight map will help you identify the principal geoglyphs along the route, followed by important flight and safety instructions.

Flight Over the Nazca Lines

Once airborne, the adventure begins over the vast Nazca Desert. From your window seat, you will observe some of the most celebrated Nazca geoglyphs, including enormous animal figures, geometric designs, long straight lines and vast trapezoids etched across the desert floor.

The aircraft maneuvers around the principal figures to provide passengers on both sides with excellent aerial views and opportunities for photography.

Continuing North to the Palpa Lines

The flight then continues north toward the Palpa valleys, where the landscape changes dramatically. Here, ancient geoglyphs appear across hillsides, ridges and desert plateaus, creating a striking contrast with the predominantly flat pampas of Nazca.

During this section of the flight, you will see several of the most symbolic Palpa figures, including anthropomorphic geoglyphs, geometric compositions and other ancient designs associated with the Paracas and Nazca cultural traditions.

Return Flight to Nazca Airport.

After exploring the Palpa region from the air, the aircraft turns south for the return journey to Nazca. Along the way, you can continue enjoying panoramic views of the desert valleys, mountains and archaeological landscape below.

After approximately 60 minutes of flight, you will land back at Nazca Airport.

Upon landing, your driver will be waiting at the airport. You will then be transferred comfortably back to your hotel in Nazca, bringing your Nazca & Palpa Lines experience to an end.

The views over Nazca were spectacular, but the Palpa section was an unexpected highlight. Seeing the human figures and enormous geometric designs across the hills really showed how extensive these ancient markings are. Excellent organization at the airport as well.

An unforgettable hour above the desert. We could see the classic Nazca figures and then many more geoglyphs around Palpa. Having a window seat made it easy to follow the route and take photographs. Definitely a memorable way to experience both areas.
